Distance Education
The University of Tennessee offers 19 semester-based, web-delivered graduate programs leading to degrees and certificates. Other selected graduate and undergraduate courses are also available. Courses are delivered "Live Online" meaning that students and faculty log on at a given day and time for the type of real time learning experience so important at the graduate level. Students may (with the instructor's consent) access the recording of the class meeting anytime. This delivery method provides the best of both worlds - real time interaction with flexibility.
Degree programs and courses offered via distance education are the same as the degree programs on campus, taught by the same faculty and governed by the same high academic standards and regulations. With the exception of the Executive MBA programs, all course content via distance education is delivered online. Depending upon the program, some residency periods may be required.
