Who Might Benefit From This Program?
The University of Tennessee Graduate Certificate in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering is a cross-disciplinary program designed primarily for students who wish to pursue careers in MRE. The program is also appropriate for MRE professionals and managers currently working in the field who wish to improve their knowledge and skills, which ultimately will improve the productivity and profitability of their parent organizations. The three engineering disciplines at The University of Tennessee that currently participate in the program are Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering. Criteria for acceptance into the certificate program are the same as for acceptance into the M.S. program of either of these three participating disciplines. The acceptance criteria are described in detail for each of the three disciplines in The University of Tennessee Graduate Catalog, which is available online at http://web.utk.edu/~gsinfo/.
Persons meeting admission criteria, but not seeking a certificate, may also enroll in courses for continuing education and professional development as space allows. Students may begin the program in any semester after being advised on course selection by the department in which they are admitted.
