Information for Professional Development Students

Professional Development Courses and "Audit"
Courses listed in the professional development section of this website have been designed to help students pursue a personal or professional interest, improve employment prospects, review previous studies, or prepare for more advanced education. Professional development courses are noncredit courses. In addition, any college course may be taken on an "audit" (non-credit) basis. For non-credit purposes no academic prerequisites apply.

If you are not interested in receiving college credit for your work and if you are qualified by educational background or experience to do the work involved in the course, you may enroll on an "audit" basis for any course listed in this catalog to increase your knowledge in a given subject. In such cases, even though you choose a course from the college listing, no final examination will be administered and no grade will be reported to the academic records office. You may, however, request a certificate of completion.

In non-credit courses, you may request a certificate of completion when you have met all requirements for the course. Direct the request to the Department of Distance Education and Independent Study.

Continuing Education Units (CEU)
The Internet eLearning Institute (IEI) courses within this website offer Continuing Education Units (CEU).
