Asset Research/How-To Techniques - (10 hours) This is an in-depth course in the techniques of conducting an Asset Search on an individual or business. As a student you will be able to understand what constitutes an asset search, identify the need for an asset research, distinguish between the different types of asset research, gain knowledge of the legalities, learn about the resources available to you to locate the information you need, and recognize the types of hidden assets and methods used to hide assets. This course is open to anyone desiring the knowledge to locate assets (e.g., creditors, paralegals, judgment enforcers, attorneys, investors, and the general public, or any profession needing the ability to locate and document assets).

Background Checks/Research - (10 hours) This course will introduce you to "What is a background check?" and "Why you need a background check?" The course includes in-depth coverage of what is included in the different types of background checks (individual and corporate) and the resources available (both free and fee-based databases) for securing information. The important legalities that regulate the acquiring of background information and its use are covered in detail. You will learn the organizational skills for conducting and documenting the information acquired. Course activity provides practical experience for conducting a background check of your choosing.

Navigation of Public Records - (10 hours) This course will introduce you to the structure of the public records system on a local, state, and national level. How is the courthouse system structured for holding the public records for research? What is considered a public record? What is available to the public for inspection and documentation? Who is in charge of keeping the accuracy of the public record system? What information can be found in navigating public records? Even with "public records" being public, the laws that govern their use is clear, and these laws are explained in detail. The Internet use of free and fee-based databases for obtaining public records as well as their accuracy and availability are detailed.

Missing Persons/Profiling and Location - (10 hours) Locating an individual is not a simple matter. This course will provide you with the "how-tos" of creating a missing person profile and the research techniques used in locating a missing person. You will gain knowledge on recognizing the resources available to locate the missing person as well as a list of the public records you can use for your research. You will be given the steps on how to begin your research, when to consider a person really missing, and the variables that can affect your research. When the search is over and you're successful, what happens next? How do you know you found the right person? Learn the answers to these questions and you will have acquired the knowledge to successfully do a missing persons search.

Ethics in Business - (2 hours) This course in ethics will cover the principles of the individual, business, and societal ethics. The application of ethical conduct in the practice of private investigation will be explored. You will gain knowledge in applying a normative ethical theory (e.g., the Golden Rule in your day-to-day conduct as a private investigator). You will get a clear understanding of individual vs. societal ethics and learn to identify the common fallacies in ethical reasoning. The importance of ethical conduct in the private investigative field is analyzed, and the use of ethical terminology will be explored. This course will make ethical comparisons of private investigation and other professions. The impact of ethical leadership vs. non-ethical leadership dynamics, and its impact on everyday occurrences are explored. The courses grants 2 hours of CEU credit for states requiring Ethics for license renewal.

Homeland Security - (2 hours) Upon completion of this course you will understand the functions of the Department of Homeland Security, differentiate between the types of terrorism, know the history of terrorism, and know the indicators of a possible terrorism attack. The psychological understanding of the mind of a terrorist is addressed as a unique part of the terrorist activity. The Homeland Security Act and The Terrorist Surveillance Act are also made available. This course will give private investigators in the states of Georgia, South Carolina , and Texas 2 hours of CEU credit, and for any of our listed states.
