Computer Specifications

Hardware | Required Software | Technical Support

Hardware:

Taking the NJATC course(s) requires that you have access to certain hardware and software. The following is a list of the hardware requirements.

  • A computer with a Pentium 133 or better 
  • Microsoft Windows ME, 2000, XP, or Vista
  • At least 64 megabytes installed RAM memory 
  • A tested 33.6 kbps Internet (TCP/IP) connection without firewall restrictions. 56 kbps or better recommended.
  • MIME-compliant email capable of sending and receiving attachments as large as 5 megabytes. Microsoft Outlook 98 or Outlook Express preferred, but not required.
  • Access to a phone line for emergency technical support (in addition to any phone line required for your internet connection)
